e-Courts App Users Urged to Back Up Data Before Update
The Karnataka High Court has issued an urgent directive via email on April 21, 2026, concerning a significant update to the e-Courts Mobile App. Version 4.0 of the application is scheduled for release on May 5, 2026. Following the High Court's instructions, a memorandum (No: 5107/2026) was subsequently issued on April 22, 2026, by the office of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru.
This notice is primarily for all advocates and other users of the e-Courts mobile app. It is mandatory for them to back up their existing case information using the "Export" option within the current version of the app. This measure is critical to prevent the loss of any stored data during the update process.
Once the updated app is installed, users can restore their backed-up information using the "Import" option. To avoid any inconvenience or potential data loss, all users must complete this backup procedure by May 5, 2026. The High Court has underscored the extreme urgency and importance of this matter, requesting wide dissemination of the information among all lawyers and display on Bar Association notice boards for maximum awareness.
